What personal data do we collect and why do we collect it?
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and usage data to help detect spam.

Mediate
If you upload images to the site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (GPS EXIF). Site visitors can download and extract any location data from the images on the site.

Contact forms
We collect data in the contact forms and in the subscriber form. If you fill in the data entered, we will receive your personal data by e-mail and we will also keep it in our database.

cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, your name, email address and site will be saved in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill in your details when leaving another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you have an account and sign in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser supports cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is deleted when you close your browser. When you sign in, we will also set multiple cookies to save your login information and on-screen display options. Login cookies last two days, and cookies for display options last one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of the account, the login cookies will be deleted. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not include personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other sites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Content embedded on other sites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, incorporate third-party tracking and monitor the interaction with the content embedded in that site.

Analytics
We use third-party analytics tools, such as Google Analytics and HotJar, to analyze web traffic data and optimize our content.

How long we will keep your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This is so that we can automatically recognize and approve any subsequent comments instead of keeping them in a moderation queue. For users who register on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also view and edit that information.

What rights do you have over your data?
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You may also request that we delete all personal data we hold about you. This does not include data that we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.
